Because She Hides: One Shot Wednesday

The pale sun glitters over tears the clouds have shed

the sunburnt earth still shows faint scars of where her heart had bled

(because she hides)

The clouds stay the same and continue drifting from day to day

and the wind whispers the prayer not heard

it carries each note, hangs on each word

(because she hides)

The mystery stays unbroken

the door is still shut

the world still wonders

because she hides

  1. Cool poem, the ambiguous "because she hides" refrain layers the poem where you use natures in various incarnations. Interesting. Thanks, Gay

  2. i like the paranthetical enclosures on the first two (because she hides) and then the third seems to be a release, an unafraid proclamation..."because she hides!"

you have a very insightful understanding of what goes on in the deeper places of who you are. very thought provoking!
